LS Mtron (CEO Shin Chai-ho), an LS Group company specializing in industrial machinery and advanced components, has rapidly expanded its market share in the North American injection molding machine market.

The company recorded a 10% market share in North America in 2025, representing an almost twofold increase compared to 5.8% in 2024. LS Mtron's injection molding machines have demonstrated an exceptional growth trajectory, even with the stagnant market environment. Although the size of the North American injection molding machine market remained steady in 2025 at approximately $1 billion (KRW 1.4 trillion), LS Mtron nearly doubled its sales.

One primary driver of this success was the rapid enhancement of local responsiveness to align strategically with the reshoring trend in manufacturing in North America. Specifically, a tailored order strategy that involved analyzing the diversified needs of local customers proved highly effective. This involved simultaneously highlighting the company’s premium all-electric injection molding machines optimized for precision molding and energy efficiency alongside its large hybrid injection molding machines renowned for their robust durability.

Through these offerings, LS Mtron was able to meet the precise demands of major clients, particularly in the packaging box and automotive parts industries, which drove significant growth. In fact, the company's local market penetration is now so substantial that plastic box products currently sold at major US retailers such as Home Depot, Costco, and Walmart are entirely manufactured using the company’s injection molding equipment.

Furthermore, LS Mtron has generated strong synergies through aggressive localized marketing efforts, such as establishing a North American injection molding subsidiary, hiring key local sales personnel, and prominently participating in the National Plastics Exhibition in the US. Currently, LS Mtron is bolstering its customer support capabilities by expanding its Global Tech Center network, which is primarily based in Korea and the United States, to five global hubs. At the same time, it is actively considering opening new warehouses in North America to improve operational efficiency and customer responsiveness.

Shin Chai-ho, CEO of LS Mtron, said, "Our localized sales activities, which have included establishing a new North American injection molding subsidiary and increasing customer touchpoints, are producing tangible results." He added, "Moving forward, by continuing to expand our local sales network, we will further strengthen our North American customer support system, with the goal of reaching a 15% market share this year."
