LS Mtron’s MT7 SmarTrek autonomous tractor on exhibition at the 2023 Iksan Agricultural Machinery Exhibition

LS Mtron (CEO: Chai-ho Shin), a company under the LS Group that specializes in industrial machinery and cutting-edge components, announced on the 31st its participation in the 2023 Iksan Agricultural Machinery Exhibition held at the Agricultural and Fishery Products Market in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do from October 31st to November 3rd.

The 2023 Iksan Agricultural Machinery Exhibition was organized with the goalsof activatingthe domestic agricultural machinery and equipment industry and creatinga basis for overseas export. Atthe exhibition venue (approx. 18,000m2) comprising three sections, around 200 companies displayed over 400 pieces of rice farming machinery, field farming machinery, fruit farming machinery, and horticultural, livestock and processing machinery, as well as other related components. In particular, with a focus placed on cutting-edge agricultural equipment, such as autonomous agricultural machinery, smart ICT (information and communication technology) equipment, and agricultural robots, the exhibition showed the development history and status of Korea’s agricultural machinery and equipment industry.

At the exhibition, LS Mtronexhibited the MT7 SmarTrek, the firstautonomous tractor commercialized in Korea and sold to public organizations, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and general farmers. LS Mtron’s MT7 SmarTrek autonomous tractor is an innovative product that autonomously carries out forward, backward, and turning movements and links to work machines. With these functions, this product reduces work time by 17% and increases yield by 8%. As such, it maximizes the strengths of autonomous operation technology to improve workers’ convenience, operation precision and productivity

The MT7 SmarTrek is currentlyat level 3. This means that it is capable of autonomous forward and backward movement and work machine control. Acore and basic element for realizing unmanned operation,which is considered level 4 of autonomous operation, is an obstacle detection function, which has already been applied to the product and is being used at agricultural sites. The industry evaluates that Mtronwith this product, LS Mtronhas taken a gigantic step towards the era of autonomous farming by tractors and demonstrated agricultural technologies of the present and future.

In addition, LS Mtron drew the visitors’ attention by restoring and exhibiting the GoldStar Tractor 300, which was the first model launched through affiliation with an advanced company in the 1970s and won great popularity in the domestic and overseas markets. Showing off the heritage of LS Tractor, LS Mtron held aGoldStar 300 photo zone event.

LS Mtron also unveiled the MT2, a premium compact tractor for rural migrants. The MT2, with its compact and comfortable design and elaborate technology, supports aspiring farmers to perform operations efficiently and conveniently. This product is optimized forjobs in confined spaces, such as orchards. Also, the dual-pedal system enables even beginners to conveniently control the forward and backward movements of the machine. With itsimported eco-friendly tier 4 25-horsepower engine, the MT2 demonstratespowerful strength and performance.
